    Model and analysis of the active reproduction rate(Rt) of COVID-19 cases by geographic region in Greece

    This thesis presents a study on the active reproduction rate (Rt ) of COVID-19 cases in Greece by geographic region. The Rt values are calculated using a probabilistic model that employs the likelihood function and Bayes’ theorem. The model uses the number of cases and the serial interval to estimate Rt . A web application using this model is also developed to visualize the data. The web application calculates the Rt values for each day and creates a 95% highest density interval. The visualization provides a clear representation of the Rt values for each region and helps in monitoring the spread of the virus. The results of this study provide a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics of the COVID-19 outbreak in Greece which may contribute in the future creation of effective public health policies.
